Polbeth and West Calder Community Garden SCIO

Polbeth and West Calder Community Garden SCIO is an award-winning Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation. On 28th February 2013 we were awarded charitable status as a SCIO, a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation. In June 2013 we signed a 5-year lease with West Lothian Council to take on the former Polbeth Market Garden site. We recently negotiated a 25 year lease to further develop the site. Our aim is to provide an opportunity for local people, schools and community groups to grow fruit and vegetables and take part in a range of outdoor leisure activities. We are a group working to develop a community garden for everyone from Polbeth and West Calder and the surrounding areas in West Lothian, and we regularly discuss with local people their ideas about how the garden should be used. The project is always developing and new volunteers are always welcome. You can find out more by visiting Polbeth and West Calder Community Garden SCIO on Facebook.
