Family Easter event in West Lothian!

Family Easter event in West Lothian!

Our next event is our Easter themed Open Day and attached is the flyer designed by Ronnie McInnes, the local artist who has been working with us this year, with a list of activities confirmed so far.

We will also have two First Aid cadets, Rory and Ben to demonstrate the defibrillator and resuscitation dummy (Annie) and we will have Luke Park from Riverlife:Almond and Avon (River Forth Fisheries Trust) with their River Table - you can also find out more about their plans for improving the Killandean Burn.

Easter fun comes in the form of rock painting and an Easter rock hunt. There is also a scavenger hunt to spot the designs of the newly painted birdboxes, an opportunity to try fedging - making a hedge with willow - and much more, including our pop-up café, Stickman Trail and Woodland Walks.

Hope you can join in the fun!

See the event poster for details.

NOTE: Take a look at the Facebook page to see what we have been up to and details of upcoming open days and events. We will also post on there if any sessions are not going ahead. https://www.facebook.com/Polbeth-and-West-Calder-Community-Garden-SCIO-228759703817523/

Polbeth and West Calder Community Garden SCIO

Polbeth and West Calder Community Garden SCIO is an award-winning Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation. On 28th February 2013 we were awarded charitable status as a SCIO, a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation. In June 2013 we signed a 5-year lease with West Lothian Council to take on the former Polbeth Market Garden site. We recently negotiated a 25 year lease to further develop the site. Our aim is to provide an opportunity for local people, schools and community groups to grow fruit and vegetables and take part in a range of outdoor leisure activities. We are a group working to develop a community garden for everyone from Polbeth and West Calder and the surrounding areas in West Lothian, and we regularly discuss with local people their ideas about how the garden should be used. The project is always developing and new volunteers are always welcome. You can find out more by visiting Polbeth and West Calder Community Garden SCIO on Facebook.
